Heather Higgins has 30 years experience successfully creating residential and commercial interiors. Her exceptional track record includes design and management roles with respected architectural interiors firms Gensler and Associates, The Switzer Group and Griswold Heckel and Kelly. As a project manager for Merrill Lynch and later, as a real estate officer with Chemical Bank, she oversaw the design of corporate facilities by outside consultants.
Heather’s entrepreneurial ambitions surfaced in the late 1980s, as a Director of Hanenburg Young, a mid-size residential design firm, whose work has appeared in Architectural Digest. In 1991, Heather founded her own firm, Higgins Design Studio, which specializes in high-end residential and corporate office interior design. She has also consulted, both domestically and internationally, on restaurant, country club and hotel design.
Heather earned her B.S. in Marketing from Drexel University, an A.A.S. in Interior Design, cum laude, from the Fashion Institute of Technology and studied Construction Management at New York University. She has received NCIDQ (National Counsel for Interior Design Qualification) certification and is a licensed New York State Certified Interior Designer.
A member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and Toastmasters international, Heather was featured on House & Garden Television’s “Designer's Challenge” program and most recently, her projects were published in the book “Contemporary Kitchens: A Style Portfolio,” by Melissa Cardona.
